St Leonard's Church

The beautiful and ancient Church of St Leonard’s, built in 1212 is situated right at the centre of Abbey Farm, allowing the entirety of your celebrations to take place on-site.

The Church seats between 60 – 80 guests and is reached across the Abbey Field by car or on foot through beautiful grass meadows and a romantic woodland walk. Alternatively, your guests can park at Abbey Farm, enjoy a drink in our bar and then be transported in true country style on our tractor and trailer. Or, our Vintage Land Rover can also be available to transport the bridal party to the Church.

Outdoor

Dreaming of the perfect outdoor ceremony, set in the idyllic English countryside? There are multiple romantic backdrops to choose from, making such a precious moment totally unforgettable for you. Your guests are bound to enjoy the adventure of experiencing an intimate ceremony, right at the heart of nature. And please don't worry about the unpredictable British weather, we always have an indoor backup (which is equally as beautiful) available!

Old Granary Barn

Hold your ceremony under the elegant mezzanine lights of the Old Granary Barn, creating the most romantic, magical and intimate setting all year round. Full of character and charm, we wanted to ensure this Barn not only retained all of it's authentic, original features but also incorporated a modern, luxurious twist.

Oak Barn

Situated at the heart of our venue, the Oak Barn was built in 2016 using the traditional 300 year old Mud & Stud craftsmanship of Lincolnshire. The incredible Oak beams are locally sourced and add an amazingly romantic and heart warming atmosphere. Accommodating a larger guest list, this barn can seat up to 160 guests for your ceremony. Tie the knot amidst the glow of real fire light in front of the log burner or make use of the rustic backdrop of the traditional barn doors.

Drinks Reception

What better way to celebrate your marriage than to enjoy a glass of champagne in the sunshine, with views of the beautiful English Countryside and the magnificent Kirkstead Abbey Ruin. Whilst you take the opportunity to capture your dream couple shots in our picturesque locations across the grounds, you can be reassured that your guests will be entertained with all of our garden games. Alternatively, our spacious and interconnecting barns are the perfect rustic setting to hold your indoor drinks reception, without having to step foot outside of the venue again. During the Winter, this is especially romantic as guests can enjoy a drink in front of the warm glow of our log burners.

Wedding Breakfast

With up to 90 seated guests in the Oak Barn, or 160 in the Old Granary, you have the flexibility to host a more intimate wedding breakfast or enjoy the ease of extending your guest list, ensuring nobody misses out on a whole day of celebrations!
The choice is yours when it comes to how you use the spaces available and potential table layouts. We are always more than happy to guide you on what might work best with your numbers & plans for the day.

Speeches

When it comes to speeches and their positioning within the order of the day, this is totally down to the preference of each couple and their speakers! For those who might be feeling a little nervous, speaking before the meal means that they can then enjoy their food. Otherwise, to avoid hungry guests, you can take the more traditional format of speeches following your meal. Whenever you choose, this can be the perfect opportunity to give your guests a glass of fizz, as a toast to the brand new Mr & Mrs!

Bar

With wonderful stone walls, open rafters and fairy lights, the bar creates a warm and welcoming ambience for all of your guests, day or night! Linking all of the barns together, it is also the perfect place for your wedding cake to take centre stage - and ensures everyone sees it throughout your day!

As well as our wide variety of gins, rums and vodkas, we also stock a large number of local Lincolnshire brands and of course, the very own Nelstrop family English Whisky & Norfolk Nog! Our friendly team of bar staff are always on hand to mix you your favourite tipple, cocktail or pour the perfect pint!

When the dancing begins and the cocktails start flowing, the bar really comes to life. Additionally, it offers a great chill out area with plenty of comfortable seating in front of a roaring log burner. Overlooking the outdoor firepit, this really is the ideal place to relax and rest those weary dancing feet and somewhere for the “grown-ups” to chat away from the music!

Courtyard

Once you leave the wedding breakfast, the courtyard becomes the central point of the evening due to being situated between the Oak and Old Granary barns, as well as leading straight into the bar. As your evening reception begins, it is the perfect place to catch up with family and friends and mingle over a drink next to our giant fire pit. This is great for toasting marshmallows and cosying up under our rugs on those chillier evenings.

The Courtyard offers plenty of space for your favourite street food vendor to position themselves close to the action because who doesn't appreciate a bit of comfort food towards the end of the night!?

Why not plan a couple "evening send off"? This is a perfect photo opportunity and is a lovely chance to get all of your guests together at the end of the night.

Dancing

When it comes to entertainment, your choice of Band or DJ forms a big part in kick starting your evening, bringing an energetic vibe and atmosphere and most importantly, ensuring the dance floor is always full!

In order to avoid the awkward lull of a changeover, guests can move seamlessly into the adjacent barn or enjoy a drink at the bar, linking your wedding day to your evening celebrations. But no need to worry - there will still be plenty of time should you wish to change into an evening outfit and wow your guests with your First Dance!
