Our Story | Abbey Farm Weddings

Welcome to our home and family farm, set in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside which we believe is some of England’s finest! 18 years ago we decided to host weddings here. It was at this point we had the vision for transforming the existing farm buildings which was a true labour of love and we are all so proud of the results!

Our small family business has grown very quickly, and we take great pride in the fact that we continue to only offer a limited number of bespoke and high quality weddings throughout each year.

Meet the Team

Our friends would describe the 3 of us as fun loving and loving a good party so be assured you're in good hands!

Jo Nelstrop, Venue Owner

Before married life, Jo worked as Head of Events for Nestle Purina - the perfect role for an organised, people person who loves the buzz of managing live events! More importantly, it taught her to be prepared - literally for anything and everything! We've got a few great stories!

When not busy running weddings, Jo will almost certainly be in her vegetable garden, supporting one of the boys on the side of the rugby pitch or walking the dogs!

Millie, Wedding Events Manager

Millie is our Wedding Events Manager, joining us in 2022. With a Marketing & Management degree and exceptional organisational skills, Millie is the perfect person to have around on your wedding day; from offering expert planning advice to being on-hand to ensure your day runs seamlessly. Despite not being Jo's daughter (as everyone assumes!), they make a great double act!

With her cocker spaniel Gilbert, time away from work is never dull and normally consists of a walk in the Peak District followed by an Aperol Spritz (because life is all about balance!)

Will Nelstrop, Venue Owner

Abbey Farm remains a working arable farm, led by Will and assisted by our brilliant farm team and 2 sons, Harry & Freddie. Whilst running a farm and a wedding business may seem a huge step apart, the benefit and practicalities of having a farmer behind the scenes and to test the beer is absolutely perfect!

Will’s drink of choice has always been a pint of Bateman’s XB, which goes perfectly hand in hand as a passionate supporter of England Rugby and Leicester Tigers!
